Kayak & Fishing Safety

PFD: Personal Floatation Device

I'll be writing more about safety, but first and foremost wear your PDD, AKA Personal Floatation Device and/or life jacket.

The one I currently use is the NRS Chinook PFD Life Jacket.

I'm a big fella (5' 7" / 280 lbs) and the XL/XXL has room to spare.

Boats & Water Craft To Catch Big Bass

Boats

I first became a BassHole because I had no boat. fancy boat 4 wheel trailer

The BassHoles was a bass fishing club sponsored by Hi’s Tackle in San Francisco. You didn’t need to own a boat to join, and you would be paired with another BassHole who did.

So my introduction to bass fishing was from a boat! Though I may currently be boat-less (I do dream of changing that status!) I will offer some observations on boats, and eventually post some reviews!

How many kinds of boats are there?

Plenty! And that’s just bass boats!pontoon boat

Power Boats

  • Outboard boats
  • Inboard boats
  • Pontoon boats
  • Aluminum fishing boats
  • Flats boats

These are all types of boats that have power (gasoline) engines. There are also many boats that only require electric motors.inflatable boat

Smaller Boats

  • Inflatable boats
  • Jon boats
  • Polyethylene boats

One-Person Boats / Devices

  • Kayaksflyfishing-in-a-kayak
  • Pro Angler Boats
  • Float Tubes

Tell me about your boating adventures, and be sure and check back, as I will be adding more boating information as I learn more!

Tight lines!
